Mark Hedtke
Summary:
As publisher, editor, designer of my own online newspaper during the past two years, I drew from over ten plus years of resourceful business and computer experience to gain readership, advertisers and confidence. In doing so, I collected a wealth of practical knowledge and discovered how to apply my diverse background to the skills needed to run this media online. I also gained insight to better perform an array of business operations, transactions and resolution of challenges.
Experience:
Design websites, develop online business and ecommerce sites and develop a site to create common sense solutions to problems. Stormynites, Drivinforce, Hedtke Institute (1997-2007)
Aggressively continued 100% on time delivery of freight for over seven years, well over a million accident free miles, bringing customer service to a higher level of reliability and repoire. JB Hunt and Cardinal Freight (1998-2006)
Achieved enhanced user support through my technical knowledge in hardware, software, networking, web page design, and research. PC Specialists (1996)
Evaluated medium to small businesses with Systems Analysis methodology delivering timely solutions to identified restrictions in workflow throughput. Computer Edge Technology (1995-1996)
Passionately maintained 100% on time delivery of freight for over five years averaging over 110,000 accident free miles per year. While working in the office during my sixth year, I worked in orientation, training, log, and safety departments. Roehl Transport (1989-1995)
Assertively utilized my jack of all trades mentality to develop a OJT program for warehouse associate training during relatively slow periods in order to better utilize employees during peak work load time because of their now expanded skills. Vlasic Foods (1988-1989)
Trained users and staff in computer application use as well as operations to achieve more informed users and greater productivity. Copps Food Service (1986-1987)
Specialized experience as Data Processing Manager and Technical School instructor, for a wide range of software, refined my ability to explain technical operations in an understandable fashion and go on to develop user manuals that were easily followed. Joerns Healthcare (1983-1984)
Monitored upgrade sensitive operating systems requirements to ensure ongoing trouble free uptime of computer systems thus reducing unnecessary costs associated with data recovery and data entry overruns. Joerns Healthcare (1983-1984)
Energetically developed the ability to often envision other courses of action after thorough evaluation, missed by others.
As a special educational program project clerk for remote rural schools for the State of Alaska, I planned and arraigned a warehouse facility to facilitate receiving, filling materials requests and shipping (including packaging) for all the school materials used for these rural schools. This included scheduling shipment of many of the materials specifically sent for testing to be performed within certain time constraints. Although most of the materials had to be sent via airplane, considering frequent adverse weather conditions during the typical school year, I was able to maintain a 100% on time record.
At Vlasic Foods, as warehouse supervisor, I supervised up to twenty-six associates, while coordinating product movement between three outside warehouse locations and our production facility. I developed and advertised a bid process to perform freight movement between all locations and storage of our products in outside facilities. I ultimately awarded this contract to a freight and warehousing carrier that best met our needs and price. I supervised the required monthly physical inventory at each site with 100% reconciliation of double blind counts, on over 400 sku’s. Our total on hand inventory regularly exceeded 2 million cases. While there, I developed a labor costing standard for warehousing which translated into a ten fold increase in our shipping efficiency over a eighteen month period. Shipping volume increased from 40,000 cases per week to regularly over 500,000 cases per week, with the smallest crewing number at a Vlasic facility in the system. I further researched , recommended and saw implementation of UPC scanning equipment to be used for all aspects of warehousing, to further increase accuracy and efficiency.
